2000 Dodge Charger

Let’s start with the sheet metal, all the sheet metal (except the trunk lid) was purchased new For a 1969 Dodge Charger from auto sheet metal direct with certified Mopar restoration stamped (heavy) metal. Rear window and windshield also 1969 Dodge Charger, no door glass, just cozy wing glass. This was not a kit it was built on the exact lines of a 1969 Dodge Charger, parked side by side the cars measure the same and look the same as well. The car looks great to, doesn’t one bit look out of the ordinary like those cheesy Ferrari Fiero conversions. The only alterations to the sheet metal was  the lower mounting points of the fenders, rocker panels, and cowl. There was no alterations of the size or length of the metal that is key when building an exact replica you should not be able to tell it apart. All the metal was attached to the car to look like factory with body lines and gaps, not all welded together so if the car is in a fender bender you can still unbolt the fender and put a new one on, but it is a General Lee so doors are welded shut from the inside, no welds can be seen from the outside and door gaps are spot on. After the car was painted I assembled it by hand (no air tools) as I’ve done on higher dollar restorations in the past. Interior went back is as it came out with only a modification to the package trey. New Vector wheels and new tires. I built this car because I wanted to have the modern car amenities with the look of a classic, and I wanted a General Lee.
