New red seatbelts are a nice touch for safety’s sake, and the trunk was fitted with a new mat set and spare tire cover for the OG full size spare and jack kit. The 389 under the hood is the original YS code motor born with the car, according to casting number and date code (partial vin wasn’t a thing at Pontiac until 1967). It was fully rebuilt by Gellner Engineering, and comes with all the receipts for the work done which totaled $6,200!
All of the chrome, trim, stainless, emblems, and brightwork was new or restored during the 2008 resto, and it still all presents like new in every way. Factory Rally wheels show like new, and are wrapped in 225/70/14 redline radials all around with over 90% of the useable tread life remaining. Inside, the car was originally built with a black interior, but the owners at the time of the resto wanted it to be red, so an all-new red interior was fit to the car including seat covers, door panels, dash, steering wheel, carpeting, kick panels, fill panels, headliner and more!
